Tier 4 (Child) Student Visa. This visa is for students aged 17 or under who wish to attend an independent school in the United Kingdom. Depending on your age and the length of the course, this student visa could allow you to stay in the UK for up to 6 years. It also permits those aged 16 or over to work part-time during term, and full-time.
The UK welcomes students from other countries and does not impose restrictions on the number of visas per year. Immigration questions and education issues are dealt with by the UK Border Agency. Visa application must be submitted a month before the start of the educational course. It’sbetter to completetwo months ahead of deadline.
While an F-1 can be issued to attend public secondary school (grades 9 through 12, approximately ages 14 to 18), students are limited to a maximum of 12 months of high school in F-1 status and must show proof that payment has been made for the full, unsubsidized cost of the education at the time they apply for the visa. Private elementary or secondary schools are not affected by this ruling.
